³ Is this man not ^(A)the carpenter, ^(B)the son of Mary, and brother of James and Joses and Judas and Simon? Are not ^(C)His sisters here with us?” And they were taking ^(D)offense at Him.

James Issues a Judgment

¹³ Now after they had stopped speaking, ^(A)James answered, saying, “Brothers, listen to me.

¹⁸ And the following day Paul went in with us to ^(A)James, and all ^(B)the elders were present.

⁷ After that, He appeared to ^[a](A)James, then to ^(B)all the apostles,

¹⁹ But I did not see any other of the apostles except ^[a](A)James, the Lord’s brother.

⁹ and recognizing ^(A)the grace that had been given to me, ^(B)James and ^(C)Cephas and ^[a]John, who were ^(D)reputed to be ^(E)pillars, gave to me and ^(F)Barnabas the ^(G)right ^[b]hand of fellowship, so that we might ^(H)go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

¹² For prior to the coming of certain men from ^(A)James, he used to ^(B)eat with the Gentiles, but when they came, he began to shrink back and separate himself, ^(C)fearing ^[a]the party of the circumcision.
