Christ Came to Fulfill the Law

^17 (A)“Do not think that I have come to abolish ^(B)the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but ^(C)to fulfill them.

⁴⁹ Therefore also ^(A)the Wisdom of God said, ^(B)‘I will send them ^(C)prophets and apostles, ^(D)some of whom they will ^(E)kill and persecute,’ ⁵⁰ so that ^(F)the blood of all the prophets, shed ^(G)from the foundation of the world, may be ^(H)charged against this generation, ⁵¹ from the blood of ^(I)Abel to the blood of ^(J)Zechariah, who perished between ^(K)the altar and the sanctuary. Yes, I tell you, it will be ^(L)required of this generation.

^31 (A)but these are written so that you may ^(B)believe that Jesus is the Christ, ^(C)the Son of God, and that by believing ^(D)you may have life ^(E)in his name.

God's Righteousness Upheld

3 Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? ² Much in every way. To begin with, ^(A)the Jews were entrusted with ^(B)the oracles of God.

⁴ For ^(A)whatever was written in former days was written for our ^(B)instruction, that through endurance and through ^(C)the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
