13 If the home is deserving, let your peace rest on it; if it is not, let your peace return to you. 14 If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.(A) 15 Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah(B) on the day of judgment(C) than for that town.(D)

16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves.(E) Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.(F) 17 Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils(G) and be flogged in the synagogues.(H) 18 On my account you will be brought before governors and kings(I) as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it.(J) At that time you will be given what to say, 20 for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father(K) speaking through you.

21 “Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents(L) and have them put to death.(M) 22 You will be hated by everyone because of me,(N) but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.(O) 23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. Truly I tell you, you will not finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.(P)

24 “The student is not above the teacher, nor a servant above his master.(Q) 25 It is enough for students to be like their teachers, and servants like their masters. If the head of the house has been called Beelzebul,(R) how much more the members of his household!

26 “So do not be afraid of them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known.(S) 27 What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. 28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One(T) who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

17 But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

18 And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles.

19 But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak.

20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.

21 And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death.

22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

23 But when they persecute you in this city, flee ye into another: for verily I say unto you, Ye shall not have gone over the cities of Israel, till the Son of man be come.

24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

27 What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
