16 (B) I am sending you like lambs into a pack of wolves. So be as wise as snakes and as innocent as doves. 17 (C) Watch out for people who will take you to court and have you beaten in their synagogues.

15 Truly I tell you, it will be more bearable for Sodom and Gomorrah(A) on the day of judgment(B) than for that town.(C)
16 “I am sending you out like sheep among wolves.(D) Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.(E) 17 Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils(F) and be flogged in the synagogues.(G)
