²² Now the one sown among the thorns—this is one who hears the word, but the worries of this age^(A) and the seduction^[a] of wealth^(B) choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

¹⁹ but the worries^(A) of this age,^(B) the seduction^[a](C) of wealth,^(D) and the desires^(E) for other things enter in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.^(F)

⁶ So then, we must not sleep, like the rest, but we must stay awake and be serious. ⁷ For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.

⁷ Now the end of all things is near;^(A) therefore, be serious and disciplined^(B) for prayer.
