Matthew 14:27-29

The Voice

Jesus: ²⁷Be still. It is I. You have nothing to fear.

Peter: ²⁸Lord, if it is really You, then command me to meet You on the water.

Jesus: ²⁹Indeed, come.

Peter stepped out of the boat onto the water and began walking toward Jesus.

Matthew 14:27-29

New International Version

²⁷But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage!^(A) It is I. Don’t be afraid.”^(B)

²⁸“Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”

²⁹“Come,” he said.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
