And when they had crucified Him, (A)they divided His garments among themselves by casting [a]lots. 36 And sitting down, they began to (B)keep watch over Him there. 37 And above His head they put up the charge against Him [b]which read, “(C)THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.”

At that time two [c]rebels *were being crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left. 39 And those passing by were [d]speaking abusively to Him, (D)shaking their heads, 40 and saying, “(E)You who are going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! (F)If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.” 41 In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking Him and saying, 42 (G)He saved others; [e]He cannot save Himself! 38 Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left.

And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads,

And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.

Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,

He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.

The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
