19 Nolite thesaurizare vobis thesauros in terra: ubi aerugo, et tinea demolitur: et ubi fures effodiunt, et furantur.

20 Thesaurizate autem vobis thesauros in caelo, ubi neque aerugo, neque tinea demolitur, et ubi fures non effodiunt, nec furantur.

21 Ubi enim est thesaurus tuus, ibi est et cor tuum.

Fasting

16 “When you fast,(A) do not look somber(B) as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.(C)

19 “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth,(E) where moths and vermin destroy,(F) and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven,(G) where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.(H) 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.(I)
