³⁵ And so upon you will come all the righteous blood that has been shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel^(A) to the blood of Zechariah son of Berekiah,^(B) whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.^(C)

²⁵ All the people answered, “His blood is on us and on our children!”^(A)

²³ This man was handed over to you by God’s deliberate plan and foreknowledge;^(A) and you, with the help of wicked men,^[a] put him to death by nailing him to the cross.^(B)

³⁶ “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord^(A) and Messiah.”^(B)

¹⁴ You disowned the Holy^(A) and Righteous One^(B) and asked that a murderer be released to you.^{(C) 15} You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead.^(D) We are witnesses^(E) of this. ¹⁶ By faith in the name of Jesus,^(F) this man whom you see and know was made strong. It is Jesus’ name and the faith that comes through him that has completely healed him, as you can all see.

¹⁷ “Now, fellow Israelites,^(G) I know that you acted in ignorance,^(H) as did your leaders.^{(I) 18} But this is how God fulfilled^(J) what he had foretold^(K) through all the prophets,^(L) saying that his Messiah would suffer.^{(M) 19} Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out,^(N) that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, ²⁰ and that he may send the Messiah,^(O) who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. ²¹ Heaven must receive him^(P) until the time comes for God to restore everything,^(Q) as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.^{(R) 22} For Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your own people; you must listen to everything he tells you.^{(S) 23} Anyone who does not listen to him will be completely cut off from their people.’^[a](T)

²⁴ “Indeed, beginning with Samuel, all the prophets^(U) who have spoken have foretold these days. ²⁵ And you are heirs^(V) of the prophets and of the covenant^(W) God made with your fathers. He said to Abraham, ‘Through your offspring all peoples on earth will be blessed.’^{[b](X) 26} When God raised up^(Y) his servant, he sent him first^(Z) to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”

⁵² Was there ever a prophet your ancestors did not persecute?^(A) They even killed those who predicted the coming of the Righteous One. And now you have betrayed and murdered him^(B)—
