²¹And when his friends heard of it, they went out to lay hold on him: for they said, He is beside himself.

²¹When his family^[a] heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, “He is out of his mind.”^(A)

³¹There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him.

³¹Then Jesus’ mother and brothers arrived.^(A) Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him.
