¹¹ So I contended with the officials and said, “Why is the house of God forsaken?” And I gathered them together and set them in their stations.^(A)

¹⁷ Then I contended with the nobles of Judah and said to them, “What is this evil thing that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day?^(A)

² If the one in the wrong deserves to be flogged, the judge shall make that person lie down and be beaten in his presence with the number of lashes proportionate to the offense.

²⁹ join with their kin, their nobles, and enter into a curse and an oath to walk in God’s law, which was given by Moses the servant of God, and to observe and do all the commandments of the Lord our Lord and his ordinances and his statutes.^(A)

³⁰ We will not give our daughters to the peoples of the land or take their daughters for our sons,^(A)
