¹⁷ During those days, the nobles of Judah sent many letters to Tobiah,^(A) and Tobiah’s letters came to them.

¹⁷ I rebuked the nobles of Judah and said to them: “What is this evil you are doing—profaning the Sabbath day?^(A)

⁶ At Riblah the king of Babylon slaughtered Zedekiah’s sons before his eyes, and he also slaughtered all Judah’s nobles.
