²who invited them to the sacrifices^(A) to their gods.^(B) The people ate the sacrificial meal and bowed down before these gods.

²And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

³So Israel yoked themselves to^(A) the Baal of Peor.^(B) And the Lord’s anger burned against them.

³And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel.

⁵So Moses said to Israel’s judges, “Each of you must put to death^(A) those of your people who have yoked themselves to the Baal of Peor.”^(B)

⁵And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.
