¹⁶‘The Lord was not able to bring these people into the land he promised them on oath,^(A) so he slaughtered them in the wilderness.’^(B)

¹⁶Because the Lord was not able to bring this people into the land which he sware unto them, therefore he hath slain them in the wilderness.

²³not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath^(A) to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt^(B) will ever see it.^(C)

²³Surely they shall not see the land which I sware unto their fathers, neither shall any of them that provoked me see it:
