The Tassels on the People's Clothes

37 The Lord told Moses 38 (A) to say to the people of Israel, “Sew tassels onto the bottom edge of your clothes and tie a blue string to each tassel. 39-40 These will remind you that you must obey my laws and teachings. And when you do, you will be dedicated to me and won't follow your own sinful desires. 41 I am the Lord your God who led you out of Egypt.”

Tassels on Garments

37 The Lord said to Moses, 38 “Speak to the Israelites and say to them: ‘Throughout the generations to come(A) you are to make tassels on the corners of your garments,(B) with a blue cord on each tassel. 39 You will have these tassels to look at and so you will remember(C) all the commands of the Lord, that you may obey them and not prostitute yourselves(D) by chasing after the lusts of your own hearts(E) and eyes. 40 Then you will remember to obey all my commands(F) and will be consecrated to your God.(G) 41 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt to be your God.(H) I am the Lord your God.(I)’”
