^30 (A) Death is the penalty for murder. But no one accused of murder can be put to death unless there are at least two witnesses to the crime.

Witnesses Must Tell the Truth

Moses said to Israel:

^15 (A) Before you are convicted of a crime, at least two witnesses must be able to testify that you did it.

^16 (A) But if that one refuses to listen, take along one or two others. The Scriptures teach that every complaint must be proven true by two or more witnesses.

Final Warnings and Greetings

13 ^(A) I am on my way to visit you for the third time. And as the Scriptures say, “Any charges must be proved true by at least two or three witnesses.”

^19 (A) Don't listen to any charge against a church leader, unless at least two or three people bring the same charges.

^28 (A) If two or more witnesses accused someone of breaking the Law of Moses, that person could be put to death.

^13 (A) God judges everyone else. The Scriptures say, “Chase away any of your own people who are evil.”
