¹⁶For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

¹⁶for their feet rush into evil,^(A)
they are swift to shed blood.^(B)

¹⁶^(A)For their feet run to evil,
And they make haste to shed blood.

¹⁷But thine eyes and thine heart are not but for thy covetousness, and for to shed innocent blood, and for oppression, and for violence, to do it.

¹⁷“But your eyes and your heart
are set only on dishonest gain,^(A)
on shedding innocent blood^(B)
and on oppression and extortion.”^(C)

¹⁷“Yet^(A) your eyes and your heart are for nothing but your covetousness,
For shedding innocent blood,
And practicing oppression and violence.”
