Proverbs 11:29-31

Good News Translation

²⁹Those who bring trouble on their families will have nothing at the end.

Foolish people will always be servants to the wise.

³⁰Righteousness^[a] gives life, but violence^[b] takes it away.

³¹^(A)Those who are good are rewarded here on earth, so you can be sure that wicked and sinful people will be punished.

Proverbs 11:29-31

New International Version

²⁹Whoever brings ruin on their family will inherit only wind,
and the fool will be servant to the wise.^(A)

³⁰The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,^(B)
and the one who is wise saves lives.

³¹If the righteous receive their due^(C) on earth,
how much more the ungodly and the sinner!
