Proverbs 15:5-7

King James Version

⁵A fool despiseth his father's instruction: but he that regardeth reproof is prudent.

⁶In the house of the righteous is much treasure: but in the revenues of the wicked is trouble.

⁷The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

⁵A fool spurns a parent’s discipline,
but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.^(A)

⁶The house of the righteous contains great treasure,^(B)
but the income of the wicked brings ruin.^(C)

⁷The lips of the wise spread knowledge,^(D)
but the hearts of fools are not upright.
