Proverbs 18:3-5

Young's Literal Translation

³With the coming of the wicked come also hath contempt, And with shame -- reproach.

⁴Deep waters [are] the words of a man's mouth, The fountain of wisdom [is] a flowing brook.

⁵Acceptance of the face of the wicked [is] not good, To turn aside the righteous in judgment.

New International Version

³When wickedness comes, so does contempt,
and with shame comes reproach.

⁴The words of the mouth are deep waters,^(A)
but the fountain of wisdom is a rushing stream.

⁵It is not good to be partial to the wicked^(B)
and so deprive the innocent of justice.^(C)
