¹⁷The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan and covered the company of Abiram.

¹⁷The earth opened^(A) up and swallowed Dathan;^(B)
it buried the company of Abiram.^(C)

¹⁸And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.

¹⁸Fire blazed^(A) among their followers;
a flame consumed the wicked.
