⁶⁷Before I was afflicted^(A) I went astray,^(B)
but now I obey your word.^(C)

⁶⁷Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

⁷¹It was good for me to be afflicted^(A)
so that I might learn your decrees.

⁷¹It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

⁷⁵I know, Lord, that your laws are righteous,^(A)
and that in faithfulness^(B) you have afflicted me.

⁷⁵I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me.
