²Everyone lies^(A) to their neighbor;
they flatter with their lips
but harbor deception in their hearts.^(B)

²They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

⁸Come near to God and he will come near to you.^(A) Wash your hands,^(B) you sinners, and purify your hearts,^(C) you double-minded.^(D)
