²O my soul, thou hast said unto the Lord, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

²Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?

²“Can a man be of benefit to God?^(A)
Can even a wise person benefit him?^(B)

⁷If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
