A Prayer for Help, and Praise for Its Answer.

A Psalm of David.

28 To You, Lord, I call;
My (A)rock, do not be deaf to me,
For if You (B)are silent to me,
I will become like those who (C)go down to the pit.
Hear the (D)sound of my pleadings when I cry to You for help,
When I (E)raise my hands (F)toward [a]Your holy (G)sanctuary.
(H)Do not drag me away with the wicked
And with those who practice injustice,
Who (I)speak peace with their neighbors,
While evil is in their hearts.
Give back to them (J)according to their work and according to the evil of their practices;
Give back to them according to the work of their hands;
Repay them what is due them.
Because they (K)do not regard the works of the Lord
Nor the deeds of His hands,
He will tear them down and not build them up.

Blessed be the Lord,
Because He (L)has heard the sound of my pleading.
The Lord is my (M)strength and my (N)shield;
My heart (O)trusts in Him, and I am helped;
Therefore (P)my heart triumphs,
And with (Q)my song I shall thank Him.
The Lord is [b]their (R)strength,
And He is a refuge of (S)salvation to His anointed.
(T)Save Your people and bless (U)Your inheritance;
Be their (V)shepherd also, and (W)carry them forever.

The Voice of the Lord in the Storm.

A Psalm of David.

29 (X)Ascribe to the Lord, [c]sons of the mighty,
Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory [d]due His name;
Worship the Lord (Y)in holy attire.

The (Z)voice of the Lord is on the waters;
The God of glory (AA)thunders,
The Lord is over [e](AB)many waters.
The voice of the Lord is (AC)powerful,
The voice of the Lord is majestic.
The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
Yes, the Lord breaks (AD)the cedars of Lebanon in pieces.
He makes Lebanon (AE)skip like a calf,
And (AF)Sirion like a young wild ox.
The voice of the Lord divides [f]flames of fire.
The voice of the Lord [g]shakes the wilderness;
The Lord shakes the wilderness of (AG)Kadesh.
The voice of the Lord makes (AH)the deer give birth
And strips the forests bare;
And (AI)in His temple everything says, “Glory!”

10 The Lord sat as King at the (AJ)flood;
Yes, the Lord sits as (AK)King forever.
11 [h]The Lord will give (AL)strength to His people;
[i]The Lord will bless His people with (AM)peace.

Thanksgiving for Rescue from Death.

A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the House. A Psalm of David.

30 I will (AN)exalt You, Lord, for You have (AO)lifted me up,
And have not let my (AP)enemies rejoice over me.
Lord my God,
I (AQ)cried to You for help, and You (AR)healed me.
Lord, You have (AS)brought up my soul from [j]Sheol;
You have kept me alive, [k]that I would not (AT)go down to the pit.
(AU)Sing praise to the Lord, you (AV)His godly ones,
And (AW)praise the mention of His holiness.
For (AX)His anger is but for a moment,
His (AY)favor is for a lifetime;
Weeping may (AZ)last for the night,
But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Now as for me, I said in my prosperity,
“I will (BA)never be moved.”
Lord, by Your favor You have made my mountain to stand strong;
You (BB)hid Your face, I was dismayed.
To You, Lord, I called,
And to the Lord I pleaded for compassion:
“What gain is there in my blood, if I (BC)go down to the pit?
Will the (BD)dust praise You? Will it declare Your faithfulness?

10 (BE)Hear, Lord, and be gracious to me;
Lord, be my (BF)helper.”
11 You have turned (BG)my mourning into dancing for me;
You have (BH)untied my sackcloth and encircled me with (BI)joy,
12 That my [l](BJ)soul may sing praise to You and not be silent.
Lord my God, I will (BK)give thanks to You forever.
