Psalm 62:8-12

King James Version

⁸Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

⁹Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

¹⁰Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

¹¹God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

¹²Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

⁸Trust in him at all times, you people;^(A)
pour out your hearts to him,^(B)
for God is our refuge.

⁹Surely the lowborn^(C) are but a breath,^(D)
    the highborn are but a lie.
If weighed on a balance,^(E) they are nothing;
    together they are only a breath.
¹⁰Do not trust in extortion^(F)
    or put vain hope in stolen goods;^(G)
though your riches increase,
    do not set your heart on them.^(H)

¹¹One thing God has spoken,
    two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,^(I)
¹²    and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;^(J)
and, “You reward everyone
    according to what they have done.”^(K)
