98 Psalmus ipsi David. Dominus regnavit: irascantur populi; qui sedet super cherubim: moveatur terra.

Dominus in Sion magnus, et excelsus super omnes populos.

Moyses et Aaron in sacerdotibus ejus, et Samuel inter eos qui invocant nomen ejus: invocabant Dominum, et ipse exaudiebat eos;

99 Psalmus in confessione.

Jubilate Deo, omnis terra; servite Domino in laetitia. Introite in conspectu ejus in exsultatione.

Introite portas ejus in confessione; atria ejus in hymnis: confitemini illi. Laudate nomen ejus,

quoniam suavis est Dominus, in aeternum misericordia ejus, et usque in generationem et generationem veritas ejus.

100 Psalmus ipsi David. Misericordiam et judicium cantabo tibi, Domine; psallam,

et intelligam in via immaculata: quando venies ad me? Perambulabam in innocentia cordis mei, in medio domus meae.

Non proponebam ante oculos meos rem injustam; facientes praevaricationes odivi; non adhaesit mihi

cor pravum; declinantem a me malignum non cognoscebam.

Non avertas faciem tuam a me: in quacumque die tribulor, inclina ad me aurem tuam; in quacumque die invocavero te, velociter exaudi me.

Quia defecerunt sicut fumus dies mei, et ossa mea sicut cremium aruerunt.

Percussus sum ut foenum, et aruit cor meum, quia oblitus sum comedere panem meum.

A voce gemitus mei adhaesit os meum carni meae.

Similis factus sum pellicano solitudinis; factus sum sicut nycticorax in domicilio.

Vigilavi, et factus sum sicut passer solitarius in tecto.

Tota die exprobrabant mihi inimici mei, et qui laudabant me adversum me jurabant:

11 a facie irae et indignationis tuae: quia elevans allisisti me.

14 Tu exsurgens misereberis Sion, quia tempus miserendi ejus, quia venit tempus:

24 Respondit ei in via virtutis suae: Paucitatem dierum meorum nuntia mihi:

25 ne revoces me in dimidio dierum meorum, in generationem et generationem anni tui.

27 Ipsi peribunt, tu autem permanes; et omnes sicut vestimentum veterascent. Et sicut opertorium mutabis eos, et mutabuntur;

Notas fecit vias suas Moysi; filiis Israel voluntates suas.

11 Quoniam secundum altitudinem caeli a terra, corroboravit misericordiam suam super timentes se;

12 quantum distat ortus ab occidente, longe fecit a nobis iniquitates nostras.

15 Homo, sicut foenum dies ejus; tamquam flos agri, sic efflorebit:

22 Benedicite Domino, omnia opera ejus: in omni loco dominationis ejus, benedic, anima mea, Domino.

Psalm 98

A psalm.

Sing to the Lord(A) a new song,(B)
    for he has done marvelous things;(C)
his right hand(D) and his holy arm(E)
    have worked salvation(F) for him.
The Lord has made his salvation known(G)
    and revealed his righteousness(H) to the nations.(I)
He has remembered(J) his love
    and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth(K) have seen
    the salvation of our God.(L)

Shout for joy(M) to the Lord, all the earth,
    burst into jubilant song with music;
make music to the Lord with the harp,(N)
    with the harp and the sound of singing,(O)
with trumpets(P) and the blast of the ram’s horn(Q)
    shout for joy(R) before the Lord, the King.(S)

Let the sea(T) resound, and everything in it,
    the world, and all who live in it.(U)
Let the rivers clap their hands,(V)
    let the mountains(W) sing together for joy;
let them sing before the Lord,
    for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
    and the peoples with equity.(X)

Psalm 99

The Lord reigns,(Y)
    let the nations tremble;(Z)
he sits enthroned(AA) between the cherubim,(AB)
    let the earth shake.
Great is the Lord(AC) in Zion;(AD)
    he is exalted(AE) over all the nations.
Let them praise(AF) your great and awesome name(AG)
    he is holy.(AH)

The King(AI) is mighty, he loves justice(AJ)
    you have established equity;(AK)
in Jacob you have done
    what is just and right.(AL)
Exalt(AM) the Lord our God
    and worship at his footstool;
    he is holy.

Moses(AN) and Aaron(AO) were among his priests,
    Samuel(AP) was among those who called on his name;
they called on the Lord
    and he answered(AQ) them.
He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud;(AR)
    they kept his statutes and the decrees he gave them.

Lord our God,
    you answered them;
you were to Israel a forgiving God,(AS)
    though you punished(AT) their misdeeds.[a]
Exalt the Lord our God
    and worship at his holy mountain,
    for the Lord our God is holy.

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

Shout for joy(AU) to the Lord, all the earth.
    Worship the Lord(AV) with gladness;
    come before him(AW) with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.(AX)
    It is he who made us,(AY) and we are his[b];
    we are his people,(AZ) the sheep of his pasture.(BA)

Enter his gates with thanksgiving(BB)
    and his courts(BC) with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.(BD)
For the Lord is good(BE) and his love endures forever;(BF)
    his faithfulness(BG) continues through all generations.

Psalm 101

Of David. A psalm.

I will sing of your love(BH) and justice;
    to you, Lord, I will sing praise.
I will be careful to lead a blameless life(BI)
    when will you come to me?

I will conduct the affairs(BJ) of my house
    with a blameless heart.
I will not look with approval
    on anything that is vile.(BK)

I hate what faithless people do;(BL)
    I will have no part in it.
The perverse of heart(BM) shall be far from me;
    I will have nothing to do with what is evil.

Whoever slanders their neighbor(BN) in secret,
    I will put to silence;
whoever has haughty eyes(BO) and a proud heart,
    I will not tolerate.

My eyes will be on the faithful in the land,
    that they may dwell with me;
the one whose walk is blameless(BP)
    will minister to me.

No one who practices deceit
    will dwell in my house;
no one who speaks falsely
    will stand in my presence.

Every morning(BQ) I will put to silence
    all the wicked(BR) in the land;
I will cut off every evildoer(BS)
    from the city of the Lord.(BT)

Psalm 102[c]

A prayer of an afflicted person who has grown weak and pours out a lament before the Lord.

Hear my prayer,(BU) Lord;
    let my cry for help(BV) come to you.
Do not hide your face(BW) from me
    when I am in distress.
Turn your ear(BX) to me;
    when I call, answer me quickly.

For my days vanish like smoke;(BY)
    my bones(BZ) burn like glowing embers.
My heart is blighted and withered like grass;(CA)
    I forget to eat my food.(CB)
In my distress I groan aloud(CC)
    and am reduced to skin and bones.
I am like a desert owl,(CD)
    like an owl among the ruins.
I lie awake;(CE) I have become
    like a bird alone(CF) on a roof.
All day long my enemies(CG) taunt me;(CH)
    those who rail against me use my name as a curse.(CI)
For I eat ashes(CJ) as my food
    and mingle my drink with tears(CK)
10 because of your great wrath,(CL)
    for you have taken me up and thrown me aside.
11 My days are like the evening shadow;(CM)
    I wither(CN) away like grass.

12 But you, Lord, sit enthroned forever;(CO)
    your renown endures(CP) through all generations.(CQ)
13 You will arise(CR) and have compassion(CS) on Zion,
    for it is time(CT) to show favor(CU) to her;
    the appointed time(CV) has come.
14 For her stones are dear to your servants;
    her very dust moves them to pity.
15 The nations will fear(CW) the name of the Lord,
    all the kings(CX) of the earth will revere your glory.
16 For the Lord will rebuild Zion(CY)
    and appear in his glory.(CZ)
17 He will respond to the prayer(DA) of the destitute;
    he will not despise their plea.

18 Let this be written(DB) for a future generation,
    that a people not yet created(DC) may praise the Lord:
19 “The Lord looked down(DD) from his sanctuary on high,
    from heaven he viewed the earth,
20 to hear the groans of the prisoners(DE)
    and release those condemned to death.”
21 So the name of the Lord will be declared(DF) in Zion
    and his praise(DG) in Jerusalem
22 when the peoples and the kingdoms
    assemble to worship(DH) the Lord.

23 In the course of my life[d] he broke my strength;
    he cut short my days.(DI)
24 So I said:
“Do not take me away, my God, in the midst of my days;
    your years go on(DJ) through all generations.
25 In the beginning(DK) you laid the foundations of the earth,
    and the heavens(DL) are the work of your hands.(DM)
26 They will perish,(DN) but you remain;
    they will all wear out like a garment.
Like clothing you will change them
    and they will be discarded.
27 But you remain the same,(DO)
    and your years will never end.(DP)
28 The children of your servants(DQ) will live in your presence;
    their descendants(DR) will be established before you.”
