Psalm 35:14-16
American Standard Version
14 I behaved myself as though it had been my friend or my brother:
I bowed down mourning, as one that bewaileth his mother.
15 But in [a]mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves together:
The [b]abjects gathered themselves together against me, and [c]I knew it not;
They did tear me, and ceased not:
16 [d]Like the profane mockers in feasts,
They gnashed upon me with their teeth.

14 I went about mourning(A)
as though for my friend or brother.
I bowed my head in grief
as though weeping for my mother.
15 But when I stumbled, they gathered in glee;(B)
assailants gathered against me without my knowledge.
They slandered(C) me without ceasing.
16 Like the ungodly they maliciously mocked;[a](D)
they gnashed their teeth(E) at me.
