⁹ Keep me safe^(A) from the traps set by evildoers,^(B)
    from the snares^(C) they have laid for me.

¹⁴ He will be a holy place;^(A)
    for both Israel and Judah he will be
a stone^(B) that causes people to stumble^(C)
    and a rock that makes them fall.^(D)
And for the people of Jerusalem he will be
    a trap and a snare.^(E)

⁵ Does a bird swoop down to a trap on the ground
    when no bait^(A) is there?
Does a trap spring up from the ground
    if it has not caught anything?
