²⁵ Do not let them say in their hearts,
“Aha! Just what we wanted.”
Do not let them say,
“We have swallowed him up!” ^(A)

¹ Be gracious to me, God, for a man is trampling me;
he fights and oppresses me all day long.

¹² Let’s swallow them alive,^(A) like Sheol,
whole, like those who go down to the Pit.^(B)
