21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;

23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

19 And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords.

The Finality of Babylon’s Doom

21 Then a mighty angel(A) picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea,(B) and said:

“With such violence
the great city(C) of Babylon will be thrown down,
    never to be found again.
22 The music of harpists and musicians, pipers and trumpeters,
will never be heard in you again.(D)
No worker of any trade
will ever be found in you again.
The sound of a millstone
will never be heard in you again.(E)
23 The light of a lamp
will never shine in you again.
The voice of bridegroom and bride
will never be heard in you again.(F)
Your merchants were the world’s important people.(G)
By your magic spell(H) all the nations were led astray.
24 In her was found the blood of prophets and of God’s holy people,(I)
of all who have been slaughtered on the earth.”(J)

Threefold Hallelujah Over Babylon’s Fall

19 After this I heard what sounded like the roar of a great multitude(K) in heaven shouting:

“Hallelujah!(L)
Salvation(M) and glory and power(N) belong to our God,
for true and just are his judgments.(O)
He has condemned the great prostitute(P)
who corrupted the earth by her adulteries.
He has avenged on her the blood of his servants.”(Q)

And again they shouted:

“Hallelujah!(R)
The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever.”(S)

The twenty-four elders(T) and the four living creatures(U) fell down(V) and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried:

“Amen, Hallelujah!”(W)

Then a voice came from the throne, saying:

“Praise our God,
    all you his servants,(X)
you who fear him,
    both great and small!”(Y)

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude,(Z) like the roar of rushing waters(AA) and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:

“Hallelujah!(AB)
For our Lord God Almighty(AC) reigns.(AD)
Let us rejoice and be glad
    and give him glory!(AE)
For the wedding of the Lamb(AF) has come,
and his bride(AG) has made herself ready.
Fine linen,(AH) bright and clean,
    was given her to wear.”

(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts(AI) of God’s holy people.)

Then the angel said to me,(AJ) “Write this:(AK) Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!”(AL) And he added, “These are the true words of God.”(AM)

10 At this I fell at his feet to worship him.(AN) But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God!(AO) For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”(AP)

The Heavenly Warrior Defeats the Beast

11 I saw heaven standing open(AQ) and there before me was a white horse, whose rider(AR) is called Faithful and True.(AS) With justice he judges and wages war.(AT) 12 His eyes are like blazing fire,(AU) and on his head are many crowns.(AV) He has a name written on him(AW) that no one knows but he himself.(AX) 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood,(AY) and his name is the Word of God.(AZ) 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen,(BA) white(BB) and clean. 15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword(BC) with which to strike down(BD) the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”[a](BE) He treads the winepress(BF) of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:(BG)

king of kings and lord of lords.(BH)
