²I saw the Holy City,^(A) the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,^(B) prepared as a bride^(C) beautifully dressed for her husband.

¹⁷He also measured its wall, 144 cubits^[a] by ^(A)human measurement, which is also ^(B)an angel's measurement.

¹⁷The angel measured the wall using human^(A) measurement, and it was 144 cubits^[a] thick.^[b]
