¹⁴The second great trouble is finished. The third great trouble is coming soon.

¹⁵Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet. And there were loud voices in heaven. The voices said:

“The power to rule the world
now belongs to our Lord and his Christ.
And he will rule forever and ever.”

¹⁶Then the 24 elders^[a] bowed down on their faces and worshiped God. These are the elders who sit on their thrones before God.

11:16 24 elders Elder means “older.” Here the elders probably represent God’s people.

¹⁴The second woe has passed; the third woe is coming soon.^(A)

¹⁵The seventh angel sounded his trumpet,^(B) and there were loud voices^(C) in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,^(D)
and he will reign for ever and ever.”^(E)

¹⁶And the twenty-four elders,^(F) who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces^(G) and worshiped God,
