18 I advise you: Buy gold purified in fire from me so that you may be rich. Buy white clothes from me. Wear them so that you may keep your shameful, naked body from showing. Buy ointment to put on your eyes so that you may see. 19 I correct and discipline everyone I love. Take this seriously, and change the way you think and act. 20 Look, I’m standing at the door and knocking. If anyone listens to my voice and opens the door, I’ll come in and we’ll eat together.

18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire,(A) so you can become rich; and white clothes(B) to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness;(C) and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline.(D) So be earnest and repent.(E) 20 Here I am! I stand at the door(F) and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door,(G) I will come in(H) and eat with that person, and they with me.
