Romans 3:20

²⁰Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law;^(A) rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.^(B)

²⁰Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

¹⁵because the law brings wrath.^(A) And where there is no law there is no transgression.^(B)

¹⁵Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.

¹³To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law.^(A)
