¹⁴For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless,^(A)

¹⁴For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:

¹⁸For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise;^(A) but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.

¹⁸For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.
