20 For the invisible things of him, that is, his eternal power and Godhead, are seen by the creation of the world, being [a]considered in his works, to the intent that they should be without excuse:
21 Because that when they knew God, they [b]glorified him not as God, neither were thankful, but became [c]vain in their thoughts, and their foolish heart was full of darkness.
22 When they [d]professed themselves to be wise, they became fools.

20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made,(A) so that people are without excuse.(B)
21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.(C) 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools(D)
