Romans 15:3-5

3 Christ didn’t please himself, but, as it is written, The insults of those who insulted you fell on me.[a] 4 Whatever was written in the past was written for our instruction so that we could have hope through endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures. 5 May the God of endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude toward each other, similar to Christ Jesus’ attitude.

3 For even Christ did not please himself(A) but, as it is written: “The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.”[a](B) 4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us,(C) so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.
5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind(D) toward each other that Christ Jesus had,
