Romans 7:17-19
The Voice
17 But now I am no longer the one acting—I’ve lost control—sin has taken up residence in me and is wreaking havoc. 18 I know that in me, that is, in my fallen human nature, there is nothing good. I can will myself to do something good, but that does not help me carry it out. 19 I can determine that I am going to do good, but I don’t do it; instead, I end up living out the evil that I decided not to do.

New International Version
17 As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it, but it is sin living in me.(A) 18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.[a](B) For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want to do, but the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing.(C)
