GOD’S WORD Translation
7 As a result, God in his kindness [a] has given us his approval and we have become heirs who have the confidence that we have everlasting life. 8 This is a statement that can be trusted. I want you to insist on these things so that those who believe in God can concentrate on setting an example by doing good things. This is good and helps other people.
Advice for Titus
9 Avoid foolish controversies, arguments about genealogies, quarrels, and fights about Moses’ Teachings. This is useless and worthless.

New International Version
7 so that, having been justified by his grace,(A) we might become heirs(B) having the hope(C) of eternal life.(D) 8 This is a trustworthy saying.(E) And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good.(F) These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.
9 But avoid(G) foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels(H) about the law,(I) because these are unprofitable and useless.(J)
