²⁸ We know that all things work together^[a] for the good^[b] of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.^(A)

²⁶ Brothers and sisters, consider your calling: Not many were wise from a human perspective,^[a] not many powerful,^(A) not many of noble birth.

¹⁸ I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope^(A) of his calling,^(B) what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints,

4 Therefore I, the prisoner in the Lord,^(A) urge you to walk worthy of the calling you have received,

⁴ There is one body and one Spirit^(A)—just as you were called to one hope^[a](B) at your calling—

¹⁴ I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly^[a] call in Christ Jesus.^(A)

¹¹ In view of this, we always pray for you that our God will make you worthy of his calling,^(A) and by his power fulfill your every desire to do good^[a] and your work produced by faith,^(B)

⁹ He has saved us and called us with a holy calling,^(A) not according to our works,^(B) but according to his own purpose^(C) and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

3 Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession.^(A)

¹⁰ Therefore, brothers and sisters, make every effort to confirm your calling and election,^(A) because if you do these things you will never stumble.
