⁷ Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, “I will give this land to your offspring.”^(A) So he built an altar there to the Lord who had appeared to him.

¹⁵ for I will give you and your offspring forever all the land that you see.^(A)

¹⁸ On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, “I give this land to your offspring,^(A) from the brook of Egypt^(B) to the Euphrates River:^[a]

⁸ And to you and your future offspring^(A) I will give the land where you are residing—all the land of Canaan—as an eternal possession,^(B) and I will be their God.”

¹⁶ Now the promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed. He does not say “and to seeds,” as though referring to many, but referring to one, and to your seed,^(A)[a] who is Christ.

⁸ But finding fault with His people,^[a] He says:^[b]
