⁴ He said to me, ‘I will make you fruitful and numerous; I will make many nations come from you, and I will give this land as an eternal possession^(A) to your future descendants.’^(B)

⁵ He didn’t give him an inheritance in it, not even a foot of ground, but He promised to give it to him as a possession, and to his descendants after him,^(A) even though he was childless.
